First Day of School

This morning the girls were up bright and early ready for their first day of school. They were excited about getting dressed. Hailey even asked to wear pigtails. I am unsure what that was about since she is not really into pigtails. Maybe it is cooler in second grade. HA!!!

We dropped Hailey off at her class first, and then headed down to to Hannah's room. We wanted to be able to spend a little extra time with her since it is her first day in Kindergarten. We went into her room, hung her backpack up on her cubby and sat down at her desk. For whatever reason, our girls always get paired up with boys. Hannah sat in the middle of three little boys. Who all just had blank stares on their faces. All the little girls in the class were looking at the books on their desks. Hmmm. Shane started to personally interact with the boys. He wanted to make sure they treated his baby girl right :) Gotta love a Father.

After giving Hannah hugs and kisses, we proceeded out the door, and were talking as we walked down the hall. We noticed there were tons of parents in all the other classrooms, so we decided maybe we should go back, for one more kiss :) Thankfully we did. We walked in and Hannah and Mrs. Irwin were holding a sad little boy. We left Hayden in the classroom. We were concentrating so much on the girls first day of school, we didn't even realize Hayden was not with us. Oh man, can you say humiliating. I just wanted to put a bag over my head. We got our sweet baby boy and told Hannah we loved her, and headed back out the door. I immediately sent an email to Mrs. Irwin apologizing and letting her know that was not something that normally happens in the Estes household. What a great first impression, huh?
