The Cup

Sunday, Hannah came running into the kitchen saying "Haydens peeing in a Sonic cup". Shane goes into the bathroom and sure enough the crazy boy is peeing in a Sonic cup. Later I was talking to Hayden, and asked him why he was peeing in a cup. He said, "Because I wanted to try it." I explained that boys are suppose to pee in the potty, not in cups. His repsonse was, "But Grandad pees in a cup". That explained it all. Haydens Great-Grandad has a bluebell bowl by his bed, and at night when he can not make it to the potty, he pees in it. Gross? YES!! When Shane and the kids were in San Angelo a few weeks back, Hayden tried to get the bluebell bowl, and Grandad explains to him that it was his pee cup. It shows that kids really do pay attention and listen even when you are not aware. :)

Pumpkin cleaning and carving

The kids did an awesome job cleaning out the pumpkins, getting them ready for carving. Hailey was at her friends birthday party, so she "missed" out on the fun. Turns out she was glad she was ice skating :) HA! I think I would have prefered that as well. Liam watched from his high chair. It was pretty chilly out, so he was all bundled up.

Preschool Costume Parade

Hayden had a Halloween Costume Parade at school. He was one excited little boy! He dressed up as the incredible hulk and they paraded around the sanctuary and trick or treated to some of the teachers in different locations. Fun times!! Hyper kids. Glad he has a super awesome teacher. We LOVE Mrs. Teresa.

Cubs -Soccer Fall 2011

Hayden decided this year he wanted to try another sport along with t-ball. He was trying to decide between soccer and flag football, and we finally came to the conclusion to try soccer first. Hayden has NEVER played soccer. He kicks the ball in the yard here and there, but knew NOTHING about the game. It started off a little crazy. He wasnt sure about taking the ball from someone. About 3/4 the way into the season, it clicked and he was our fast, agressive little ball player. 4 year olds are pretty fun to watch. We only had 4 boys on the team for the first part of the season and then we got another boy, Beck. They play 3 on 3 at this age. Anyways, Hayden had fun and is wanting to play again in the spring since the Y doesnt have spring t-ball or flag football. So, we will see how his next season goes. :)

Lost teeth

Hannah has officially lost her first two teeth. Hannah came home from school one day and said, "My tooth is loose". Sure enough it was loose and could have been pulled that day, but she wanted it to come out at school so she could get the tooth necklace. She went to school the next day and came home snaggle tooth. :) She pulled it herself. Brave little one. The tooth next to it was also loose. We gave it another two days and Daddy pulled it out. The two permanent teeth were already coming in, so she was never officially toothless. Ha! Lets say, she is very proud and has been telling everyone for weeks.

Zip Line

Day 3 of family camp:

After breakfast the girls got to go do the rock wall/zip line. They were both really excited, yet nervous. Who wouldnt be? 60 feet in the air and about to jump off? Hailey wized up the rock wall. Once to the vertical part, she wasnt so sure, but mastered it with a little cheering her on. She jumped off the edge with no fear. I was so proud, let me tell you.

Hannah, being so tiny, was told she had to wear the top and bottom harness. With her having sensory issues, she did not like this at all. She threw some mighty big fits, but in the end we convinced her that she would be upset if she left camp without giving the zip line a go. Omar even offered to go up with her and help her if needed. She finally decided to give it a go and put on the harnesses. She tried really hard, and with a little help made it to the top. Yah!!! Once up there the height realization hit. She did not want to go. She was crying. After a few minutes, I just told the guy to push her. And push her he did. She LOVED it!! I knew she would like the zip line much better than being lowered down. :) She wanted to go again. HA!! We can not wait until next year. We spent the rest of the morning hanging out with new friends. After lunch, we loaded the car and headed home :) What a weekend. All I can say is we LOVE CAMP FOR ALL!!!! MS Society - YOU ROCK!!!!!

Family Camp Day 2

Day two of Family Camp started off with meeting the girls in the cafeteria at 7 am. Shall I mention how nice it was to be able to get up and only have to worry about getting myself ready? :) The girls counselor got all the girls showered, dressed and then braided all their hair. They all thought it was cool that she fixed their hair to match. After breakfast, the girls took off with their group to go fishing, canoeing, and archery. Shane and I went rock climbing and ziplining. Then we went to a Living with MS couples class, which was very interesting to hear about and talk to other couples living with MS. After our class we tried to catch the girls in the middle of their activities and get some pictures, but when we arrived they had just gotten out of the canoe. :( Oh well. They had so much more fun without us around, and Shane and I were enjoying being together. We met back up with the girls for lunch and then headed back out for crafts, frisbee golf, advanced archery, paintball and just relaxing until dinner. The girls went swimming, went to a Experiencing MS class, science class where they made slime, and played games up until dinner. After dinner, we headed to the cabins for showers and to get ready for the "Geek Gala" dance that night. We didnt bring a costume this year, but we saw some cute couples who did dress up. My nice camera decided to break, so I was using a cheaper camera where the stabilizer is not so cool. Any movement from other people caused the picture to be blurry. :( Hailey loved dancing and I wish I could have caught a good picture, but here are a few, although you can not really tell what was going on. At the girls school in PE they have a period of time where they teach them fun dances, so Hailey knows ALOT of the actual moves. HA!! Silly girl. I love seeing them pull out of their shyness and have fun!! Between dancing, the kids all ran around and played outside.

Quick story: After the kids went swimming, Ace, an 8 year old boy, came up to me and said, "Mam, you are lucky to have a daughter like Hailey. There are not many girls like her". Then later that evening at the Geeky Scientist Dance he comes up to me and says... "Do you mind if I ask Hailey to dance with me? I really would like to dance with her, but I wanted to have your permission."

So, with that said, I gave him permission to ask Hailey to dance. She was not having it. No dancing with a boy :) He got sad and walked off. Later, she decided that she would dance to a fast song with him, but not a slow song. He agreed and they "danced".They both just did their own crazy moves. He really wanted to dance to a slow song, so her way of making him happy was dancing for 2 seconds outside of the dance floor. LOL Whatever works. I am not pushing her wanting to do things with boys, believe me. It was just all so funny.

Then they were playing around, and I am not sure if Hailey fell or was just being silly, but she was on the ground, so he runs over to her and lends her a hand to pick her up. My girl is not used to boys helping her so she was oblivious to the whole thing and jumps up on her own and starts playing again.

And the end of the night, Hailey and I were sitting talking and he walks over with to cups of punch. Hands one to Hailey and then says, "Oh I am sorry Haileys mom, would you like a drink?"

I am not sure about you, but how many 8 year old boys do you know with manners like that? I need him to show up when Hailey is 25 :) As long as he still has those manners of course. HA!!

The dance was a lot of fun. We headed back to our cabin about 11:30 and got ready for bed. It was another long night in the womens cabin. Lots of talking, lights on and early morning noise. Ugh!!
