Hayden doing the "alligator"

Hayden had his first game for this season of blastball. He did really well, and had a lot of fun. Shane and I were not real sure at first about blastball after he played t-ball this summer with the YMCA, but we really like it. They focus alot on drills and technique which will be good for Hayden. He is getting more of an opportunity to learn. In blastball they use foam bats and ball which is different since Hayden is use to an aluminum bat and real ball, but he didn't seem to mind. That boy has some speed. Once he learns the "correct" order to run the bases, then he will be doing so well. He is really good at fielding. He watches the ball an goes after it. MOST of the time he remembers to throw the ball to first, but sometimes he gets turned around when going after the ball and forgets the direction. I am so proud of my little slugger. Once again he is the youngest boy on his team.
PS... note the picture of the baseball tee laying on the ground.... sometimes we even make mistakes and mommy and daddy are still proud. Hayden was having to adjust his swing since he has gotten use to hitting higher. The tee was REALLY low. And he knocked the tee over a few times. One time he actually broke it, but it was easily fixed.
