Family Fun Weekend - Saturday Continue...

We took the kids to A is for Artist Family Art Festival at the Kimbell Art Museum. Art and Crafts are the girls absolute favorite things to do right now, and have been for a few years. So when I came across the event, I knew it was something we had to go do. They had different stations set up for the kids to go to and do learn about different artists and then make their own craft. It was really fun. They also had a interactive story time in which the kids got to help with the storyline. After making up the story they acted it out.
After the Art Festival we went to eat lunch at Kirklands Burgers. They have a pretty good burger. Then we took the girls (their request) back to the Kimbell Art Museum to go check out all the art work and sculptures. They loved it. It is definitely not a place to take a crazy, hyper toddler, but the girls will definitely be going back. They were shocked at how simple famous art can be, and they are already wanting to make replica art projects like the ones they saw :)
After the museum we headed over to the dollar movie theatre in North Richland Hills to see Monsters vs. Aliens. Hayden normally does really well during movies, but today he decided to pour an entire cup of pink lemonade on himself halfway through the movie. He was not a happy boy about being wet, so I had to take him out to the car while daddy and the girls finished the movie. He spent his time jumping from the front seat to the back and turning the windshield wipers and blinker on and off over and over. After the movie, we headed back to the casa to get ready for bed. It was a long, but VERY fun day. Hayden and daddy making a craft. Hayden loves to glue.
