Look at her form...
Hailey was invited to compete in the Aqua Kids Swim Meet on Friday May 13th. She was not 100% sure at first, but she loved it. We will see if she decides to stay with it after the summer break. Hailey has always loved swimming and being in the water, but she never cared to really learn to swim. So, at 7 years old, we decided to make her take lessons. We spend half the summer at the water park and with 3 (now 4) kids, it can be stressful keeping up with them all and making sure everyone is safe. I like to know my kids can swim if something happened. Within a few classes she was swimming the width of the pool. Now, 7 mths later she is ready for pre-team. You still compete in pre-team, just at a different level. We are so proud of our little girl. Way to go Hailey!
At the meet she placed second in free-style, second in breast stroke and third in backstroke. Look how close she was to getting first in free-style... so close baby!
Hailey was taught to focus on form and so she makes sure she has good form. Right now some girls are faster, but the form will pay off if she continues to be on a swim team. Her favorite is backstroke, and she does really well, just not super fast :) I was impressed and loved watching her. Hannah met a new friend and played, Hayden played legos with some boys and Liam slept. Good times! The little girl in the picture with Hailey is her swim buddy, Gabriella. They have become good friends. Looking forward to hopefully more swim competitions!
