Sleep and precious kiddos

Last night, Hannah came into our room about 1:30 am and layed down on the floor and went right to sleep. I assumed she would get up shortly as she had no pillow, blanket or anything, and to top it off, the floor is HARD. But, 3:30 rolled around and she was still there. I woke her up, made her a soft pallet, and then she went right back to sleep. She has never done this before. I am not sure what was going on. She was so precious about it though. Hayden came into our room at 5:45. He woke Hannah up and our day began. The kids were up 3 hours before their pre-school started. I am just glad they still behaved. I hope they sleep until 7 tonight.

She did it!

Hannah is Riding her bike all by herself. She finally decided she was ready and tonight she did it. I am super proud of her. Yeah for Hannah!!

A few days ago I was throwing away papers from school and out of the kids rooms. You can only keep so much, right? Well, I found a circle that had a hand in the middle that Hailey drew at school. They were talking about germs at school. It was something that was neat to see, but not all that special as to keep. I was just about to throw it away, and something told me to look on the back. I turned it over and this is what I read.....

"I Can do Inethang (anything) in God"

And she had drawn a big star. Oh my goodness, there is no way I was throwing this away now. Your every day goal is to teach your children the love of God, and it is so amazing when you hear them say something that reassures you they are listening and learning.
I mean, they were talking about GERMS at SCHOOL. But, after she finishes her work, she was thinking about how she can do anything through God. AWESOME!!

September 2nd was Hayden's FIRST day of preschool. We enrolled him at Smithfield UMC - Discovery School. I can't believe he is already old enough for school. It was only a few weeks ago he was born, right?

Hayden was excited about getting to pick out his backpack "bapback". He loves Lightning McQueen, so you can guess what he chose. He also likes to pull his bag as opposed to wearing it on his back, so we had to make sure he got one that was rolling.

On the way to school, he not only drank his juice from breakfast, but the cup that was suppose to be for school. We had to stop and buy another drink for school. It turns out, Hannah and Hayden shared about 16 oz of lemonade. Are you dehydrated little man?

Hayden did really well going into class. At first he didn't want to go in, but after checking it all out for a few minutes, he ran right in.

He had a great day. The only issue we ran into, was when we went to pick up Hannah, he decided he was tired. He layed down in the middle of the hallway and say " I go night night". He would not get up. Finally I had to pull him up so other people could walk by. He once again was not happy. We left AGAIN with a screaming little man!

I look forward to seeing all the changes that will take place with the kids in school this year, and everything that they will learn.

First Day of Preschool

On Tuesday September 1st, we took Hannah to her first Day of Preschool at Smithfield UMC - Discovery School. She was so excited and couldn't wait to use her backpack and get to pick out her outfit. That morning, she was very indecisive on what she wanted to wear. She ended up picking out her "Daddies Angel" Monkey Shirt, and white capri shorts. Shoes- oh man, she only has flip flops right now as that was all she wanted to wear this summer, and she is NOT allowed to wear them to school. We went searching for sandals with backs on them, and all we found were these multi-colored ones that do not look good with the outfits she currently has in her closet. Ugh! We will make do though.

When we got to school, Hannah walked right in and didn't have any issues at all. Now Hayden on the other hand, went crazy. He wanted to stay and play and did not want to leave his " Hannah". He was screaming, kicking and being very difficult. So, instead of getting to properly send my baby girl off to school, we had to high tail it out of the hall. I really wanted to stay and watch with the other parents, but I am just glad she did so well going in and had a good time.

She made a new "best" friend on the first day - named Lauren, who also has a brother, Grayson, in Hayden's class. She was so excited about her new friend. She loves the name Lauren.

I can't believe this is the last year of preschool for my sweet baby girl. She has grown up way to fast.

Today, Sept. 3, we had to go buy more new shoes. It turns out they have stickers on the playground and asked that all kids wear socks and tennis shoes until next week. We put Hannahs shoes on this morning to find out they were too small. So, as soon as we dropped Hailey off at school, we headed to target. Bad selection = shoes mommy does not like. I am very picky on shoes. I don't like shoes with characters or lots of designs. They just don't look as cute with multiple outfits. Hannah was happy, so I guess I am happy.

We look forward to a fun year at Discovery School.

August 31, 2009 5:40 pm - Hayden can officially count to 13!!! Woo Hoo! He has been counting to 9 here and there for about 3 weeks to a month, but today he repeatably counted to 13 over and over. He is such a smart little cookie.

Family Bike Ride

Saturday, August 29, was a pretty busy day. Shane got up early to go to the Leading Mans Breakfast at the church and after breakfast the kids and I headed out to the garage to do some major cleaning and organizing. The kids spent 5 1/2 hours doing crafts, riding bikes, drawing with chalk and eating pizza. They sure were troopers. We got alot done and hopefully will get the finishing touches done this weekend.

After naps, we ran a few errands then went to a local park for a long bike ride. It was pretty cool. You start at one playground and follow the trail to 3 more spread out playgrounds. It made the bike ride a little more easier for Hailey. It was a nice little break in between. The kids enjoyed getting to stop at all the parks along the way to play. Over the past month, we have discovered that Hailey needs a new bike. Hers is either a piece of junk, or it has been messed up by the way we hang it in the garage. The pedals fall off, the training wheels are all messed up and the wheels wobble. (And we have tightened them a million times- it just doesn't fix it) Hmmm, maybe that is why she complains when she is riding. ;) Maybe it really is hard!

We had a great ride and the kids were asking when we could do it again before we even got into the car. Yeah! We finally got them interested in a little exercise.
