Coloring and making crafts is always on the list of things to do at Mimi and Papas. Hayden loves to help clean the house too - mopping the floors so there isn't a lot of dirt.

Thanksgiving Vacation

The kids were out of school all week leading up to Thanksgiving, so Monday morning we headed to Bangs to visit Mimi, Papa, and Uncle Tim. Mimi told the girls that if they would pick up pecans that she would pay them so they could buy people Christmas presents. So, as soon as we get to their house, they wanted to start picking pecans. We got some walmart sacks and they got busy. We ended up with 2 1/2 bags full. I would say they did a good job. While they were picking pecans I racked up some piles of leaves and when the kids were done, they had a lot of fun jumping in them. Hayden wasn't so sure of the leaves though. He prefered to play with the wagon and all the toys inside it.

Thanksgiving Sschool Artwork

I have decided I can not keep everything the kids make, so we are going to start taking pictures of all their work so we can always look back at all the WONDERFUL stuff the kids create. Here are the place mats Hailey and Hannah made at their schools, and a leaf Hannah made for me, and a turkey Hailey made. I love them all.

When I grow up.....

Hailey had Career day at school, and the kids got to dress up as what they want to be when they grow up. Hailey was choosing between an artist and a rock star. She decided on a rock star.

I took VERY cute pictures before she went to school, but my camera was obviously messed up and the pictures were black. So, as soon as she got home that afternoon I tried to take some more pictures.

At school they got to watch a helicopter land in the school yard, visit a drug dog / police dog, and so many other cool things. There were some pretty interesting parents this year. Last year Shane went to talk at her school. He is a great daddy, and I am so glad he went, but his job is not exactly INTERESTING for elementary kids. They loved the candy though. HA!! She was excited HER daddy was there.

Casa Manana

On November 21st, Discovery School had a school wide event at Casa Manana to see "Here Comes Santa Clause". Hannah was so excited and Hayden would not quite saying "I see Santa". I think the poor guy really thought he was going to get to see Santa. Hannah got to sit next to her best friend from school, Lauren, and that made her very happy. The show was slow. It really wasn't keeping the kids attention. Hayden loved the singing parts, but as soon as they stopped he got fussy and kept asking to watch the movie. I think he thought we were at a movie theatre. They said a few words here and there that we do not allow in our house. Hannah pointed them out several times.... "Mommy, they are saying bad things, we should not be watching this". She was correct. She really wanted to leave during the show, but we stayed. I have heard great reviews about CM, but this show was just not the best. We will definitely try it out again though. Maybe another production will be better.

College Day at Bette Perot

Hailey had College Day at School and they were suppose to wear a college jersey or shirt. Unfortunately we do not have any college shirts for the kids right now. Hailey really wanted to dress up, and we didn't want to spend any money. Daddy decided Hailey could wear his Regis University Alumni t-shirt. She was not so excited at first but I put my motherly instincts together and we made her a "cute" outfit. Add a belt, tights and boots and you have a dress. She was excited.

Hailey lost a tooth!

Hailey has had her second tooth loose for almost 2 1/2 months. Her permanent tooth was almost as tall as the baby tooth and was pushing the baby tooth to the front of her gum. It did not want to come out. It seemed to be getting tighter instead of looser due to the fact it didn't have any room to get loose. On November 17th, we decided it was loose enough for Daddy to pull. He is really good at pulling teeth and Hailey was excited about him getting it out. She knew if it didn't eventually come out she would have to go to the dentist and she did not want to do that. Now she has officially lost her two bottom teeth. She has never experienced the hole /space in her mouth as her permanent tooth always has grown in before the baby one came out. She is ready to get to have a toothless smile.

The tooth fairy also came. She gave Hailey a good trick! In the morning, Hailey brought me her tooth tin before opening it, and said, "Mommy, I don't think the tooth fairy came". I quickly told her to sit the tin down and go get dressed, then we could look at her surprise together. (We forgot about the tooth fairy coming). I quickly took the tooth out, replaced it with a rock, and put a stocking stuffer lil-kinz on her place mat at the table with a note that said "I love you. Happy Tooth Losing!" . She was so excited when she found her surprise and loved the fact that the tooth fairy tricked her. I love the fact we were able to pull it off.
